Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and managing cause related marketing programs and related promotions and media activities, from inception to implementation.
- Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities. Developing proposals for potential corporate partners describing new initiatives that utilize and integrate First Book’s assets for promotional value.
- Managing across teams responsible for communications, community organizing and book distribution operations to create and implement value-added, integrated programs that serve the First Book mission as well as partnership marketing goals.
- Undertaking innovative special projects, as directed.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated track record in account/ project management, ideally in a client-focused, consumer-based marketing, advertising, or public relations environment.
- Proven experience in using traditional and online marketing techniques to achieve organizational/ client goals. Familiarity with earned media, viral marketing and event strategy is particularly helpful.
- Strong relationship management skills for dealing with range of corporate partners and industries.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the internal staff and external clients in the organization. Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional organizational skills required. Ability to meet designated deadlines and lean budgets are also a requirement.
Special Knowledge and Skills
Required: Computer proficiency in Windows environment appropriate to position; excellent time management and organizational skills; mature, professional attitude and appearance. Must be able to work in a fast paced multi-tasked environment as a member of a vibrant team. Must possess strong communication skills (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills.
Education and/or Experience:
BA/BS required, MBA or M.A. in a related educational field preferred; prior work experience in private sector is a plus.
