Deutsche Welle (German TV)
In 2006, a video crew from German television station Deutsche Welle came by First Book's office to film a profile of First Book as part of their series about the Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneurs. The Cat in the Hat Challenge Program
Newscasters were challenged to wear a Cat in the Hat hat. Each time that hat was worn on-air, it triggered a donation of 5000 new books by Random House to First Book. A total of 225,000 books were donated.
