About UsFirst Book provides new books to children in need, addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy – access to books. An innovative leader in social enterprise, First Book has distributed more than 65 million free and low-cost books to disadvantaged children and the programs that serve them. First Book-Geneva, based at Hobart & William Smith Colleges in the Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning, works diligently to give new books to children who need them while raising community awareness about the importance of focusing on literacy early and often. Since its inception in 2005, our Campus Advisory Board (CAB) has donated over 5,000 books to children in and around Geneva.
