About UsFirst Book is a nonprofit organization with a single mission: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books.  First Book-Blair County is located in central Pennsylvania. Blair County is home to the world famous Horseshoe Curve and the original Slinky. First Book – Blair County was granted Advisory Board status in 2004, although, First Book has had a presence in this county since 2002 as part of the Central PA First Book Advisory Board located in State College, PA.
