About Us

First Book provides new books to children in need, addressing one of the most important factors affecting literacy – access to books. An innovative leader in social enterprise, First Book has distributed more than 60 million free and low cost books to disadvantaged children and the programs that serve them.

First Book-Tampa Bay was formed in 2007 to improve literacy among children from low-income families, and as a result, help grow their entire education. The majority of children from these families have no books at all in their homes or classrooms. Children from low-income families with no books enter school at a great disadvantage.

We are currently looking for Recipient Groups in the Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco county areas. If you represent a children's group in need or would like to get involved with First Book-Tampa Bay on an individual or corporate level, please contact us today.
