First Book Spotlight – Round The Clock Nursery

School SpotlightRound The Clock Nursery is a nonprofit daycare program in New York City that serves children aged six weeks to twelve years – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They have three sites in Manhattan and the Bronx, with a fourth one on the way. The school is supported by tuition and fees, private donations, and fundraising. Their focus is on education – they believe that all children have the capacity to learn and the right to a quality education.

First Book works with Round the Clock to provide the center and its students with high-quality books and educational resources.

Gail Davis, founder and executive director of Round the Clock Nursery, says that working with First Book has helped her program grow and provide quality education to the children she serves. “It’s a great marriage,” she said. “They have helped us to do the things that we want to do in terms of expanding. These children come from really poor homes; they don’t have many books at home.”

“As far as I’m concerned, First Book has been one of the most important and fundamental relationships that we have,” Davis said.
