About UsFirst Book is a nonprofit organization with a single mission: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. First Book is a nonprofit organization with a simple mission: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. First Book works with existing community programs and provides ongoing book distributions to at-risk children. These books are distributed at no cost to the children or program. Since its inception in 1992, First Book has distributed more than 50 million new books to children in need in hundreds of communities nationwide! As the local chapter of First Book, First Book-Metro Phoenix, established in 2003, has distributed more than 50,000 books through local community literacy events, hospitals, community centers, and literacy programs. First Book-Metro Phoenix has distributed books to programs such as John C. Lincoln Learning Center, Golden Gate Community Center and Motheread® Arizona, as well as participated in the Arizona Book Festival, Read Across America Day, and collaborated with Border’s bookstore with a holiday book promotion with proceeds going to various Phoenix-area literacy programs Contact UsYou can contact us by sending an email. |
